Our Staff

James Matre

James is an owner/principal of StoneBridge Land Title Agency.  He is licensed to practice in Ohio and Kentucky. James is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, including the Board of Governors for the Real Property Section, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Ohio Land Title Association, the Southwestern Ohio Land Title Association and the Community Associations Institute. Throughout his law career, he has concentrated his practice in real estate, zoning, real estate development and community association law.

James began practicing law in the 1970s, and he's been a title agent since the 1980s.  He began his career working for the U.S. Department of Urban Development in the 1970s as a Rehabilitation Loan Processor in Columbus, Ohio. He has also worked for the City of Cincinnati, Urban Development Department, during the 1970s, working with city staff and outside consultants on the development and implementation of a city-wide housing survey. Before opening his own practice, James has also served as Vice President and Legal Counsel for a land developer where he was responsible for general office and financial management of the company.  During his time in that role, he had direct involvement in land research, acquisition and contract negotiation. He developed innovative programs for lot sales to builders and negotiated lot contracts with builders. Furthermore, he interacted with city planning, zoning and administrative personnel for project zone changes and other project needs, worked with lenders and lender's counsel to negotiate loan commitments and lending documents and acted as developer liaison to homeowner associations. 

Some of James's other experience includes coordinating major zone changes from large single family lots to multiple section planned unit developments with varied densities, ranging from large estate lots to multi-family developments. He has developed and designed project pro formas to be submitted with loan applications which has resulted in successful financing of large scale planned unit development.  Furthermore, he designed developed and drafted documentation for the homeowner's association regime for large scale planned unit developments. James has also testified as an expert witness on various subjects, including but not limited to, title abstractor duties, condominium law, title agent duties and property transfers by religious associations.

James has authored numerous publications and lectured on various topics, has taught Business and Real Estate law at the University of Cincinnati, Raymond Walters College, and served as an instructor in continuing education classes for various legal, title, and real estate associations.  He previously served three years as part of the faculty of the Community Association Law Seminar, sponsored by the Community Associations Institute, and served as a Seminar Coordinator for Condominiums, PUDs and Common Interest Developments and also a co-presenter for Drafting Condominium Documents and the Condo Law Update presented by the OSBA CLE Institute. James continues to give lectures and seminars on real estate topics.

Served as a Trustee of the Lane Public Library, Hamilton, Ohio.
Past President of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Community Associations Institute and currently on the Board.
Past Chairman of the Joint Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Cincinnati Board of Realtors.
Currently serving on the City of Montgomery Planning Commission as Chairman.

Kerrie Matre

Kerrie Matre graduated from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1997 and began practicing law in 1998, after a previous career in various facets of the real estate business. She is also a licensed title agent.  Kerrie limits her practice to real estate litigation and transactions, including: real estate contracts, real estate title examination, title insurance, judicial reports, quiet title actions, real estate acquisitions and sales, easements, real estate foreclosure and foreclosure defense,  community associations law including condominium association law, condominium conversions, homeowners association law, planned unit development law, real estate collections for violations and monthly or special assessments, construction issues, and contractor disputes. She also assists clients in administrative hearings with the State of Ohio.

Kerrie has experience in leading seminars, roundtables and lectures to groups, associations and the general public, as well as teaching as an adjunct professor in the subjects of business and real estate law at the University of Cincinnati.  She has worked with real estate agents and brokers at the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors and commercial real estate developers for commercial projects, as well as working in management for condominiums.

Kerrie is also licensed to practice in the U.S. Federal Courts, Southern District Court of Ohio.  She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio Land Title Association, Community Association Institute and the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors. 

Keya Hamilton

Keya has been in the real estate and title industries for over a decade. She got her start in 1998 as a Real Estate Agent Assistant and began working in title in 2002.  Keya has expertise in many areas of  her  profession, including: clearing Preliminary Title Reports; closing commercial, residential and lending institution loans; preparing and understanding legal documentation associated with closings; processing title orders; preparing settlement statements and collecting and disbursing funds in an accurate and timely manner.  She has also worked as an REO Specialist, Operations Manager, and Director of Business Development. Keya  has attended the University of Cincinnati and the University of Phoenix, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA. Keya is a dependable business person who exudes quality customer service, dedication to her clients and company, attention to detail and public relation skills. ​


Kelly West

Kelly has been in the title agency business for more than twenty years and joined StoneBridge Land Title Agency in November, 2011.   She  has been  a licensed title agent in the State of Ohio since 2007.  She is involved in all phases of the closing process and instrumental in clearing titles for a timely closing.  She is committed to providing great customer service to all parties of the closing transaction.
